Distributor talks about success in promoting Rober’s latest pressure ulcer relief solution
As a specialist producer of mattresses that target prevention of pressure ulcers, Rober Ltd. works with distributors around the world. Delivering innovative, ‘zero pressure’ solutions demands a close working relationship with our distributor partners to ensure healthcare organisations get the best advice and service. Below is an interview with Jeannette Buchard Denker, CEO of our distributing partner in Denmark, Zibo Athene. Jeanette talks about what they like the most about our pioneering pressure relief mattresses.
How long have you been working with Rober?
We have been Rober’s distributing partner for the last ten years, and during this time have been building up the success of our company with their products. We’ve now started selling Rober’s new mattress, the NoDec® Wizard, which has been designed for intensive care and critically ill patients.
What do you like about Rober’s mattresses?
Rober’s mattresses are manufactured to a high quality and they are a fair price for our customers. The way they have been designed means they are easy to use for nursing and care staff and have easy access to the CPR function and the control panel.
It’s always an attractive proposition to bring something new to our customers, such as the unique NoDec Wizard, which is such a pioneering product. While there are other so-called “turn mattresses” on the market in Denmark, none have the additional inbuilt dynamic function. It is extremely innovative.
Why do you like Wizard and why is it so popular?
The NoDec Wizard is unique and there is a growing demand for turning mattresses. The problem with the traditional turning mattresses, is that they often cause skin damage to the patient because they don’t have the dynamic function that prevents pressure wounds. In Denmark, there is a lot of focus on welfare technology and the Wizard is considered a welfare technology product. Patients with risk of decubitus ulcers are very labour intensive, as the care team needs to visit the patient at home to make sure they are repositioned in the bed to prevent pressure wounds. Speaking to our customers about the Wizard, they see a potential to use fewer care staff with fewer visits. The mattress itself is also more comfortable for the patient as they don’t need to be disturbed several times during the day and night – the Wizard does the job! We have just returned from attending the CareWare exhibition showing the Wizard, and each person we spoke to showed a great deal of interest in the product.
What success have you had with it so far?
Every mattress that is manufactured and sent to us in Denmark is sold within a couple of weeks. Our main limit is the number of sales reps!
