Pressure relief mattress specialist, Rober, has launched the NoDec® BARI, which offers protection for bariatric patients weighing up to 400Kg.
The NoDec® BARI is a high performance, 3 cell-cycle pressure relief mattress which prevents pressure injuries from occurring in bariatric patients. It also acts as a therapeutic solution to treat patients who already have established pressure injuries.
The alternating mattress mechanically replicates the body’s natural movement in response to unrelieved pressure. It features 20 arrow shaped air-cells and two reinforced, permanently inflated cells along its edges. These protect against patient falls, and assist nursing staff when transferring patients from the bed to chair.
Within the 15-minute cycle time, patients nursed on NoDec® BARI are effectively turned 4 times per hour. This reduces the requirement for nursing staff to reposition heavy patients.
The NoDec® BARI is available in three widths – 900mm, 1000mm and 1200mm – depending on the weight of the patient.
