12 tips for preventing ulcers
15th June 2015 In News

Your Turn – a national movement working to reduce the number of pressure ulcers in the UK – has revealed their top 12 tips for preventing pressure sores.
Their report, which has been published on Twitter, highlights simple steps that carers, nurses and patients can do to help prevent pressure sores.
Your Turn was launched in June 2006 with the aim of raising public awareness about the dangers of pressure ulcers. The national campaign aims to provide health care professionals with an educational and awareness campaign that they can use locally to reduce pressure sore prevalence.
Pressure sores can be very serious if they are not cared for properly. They can mean a lot of pain and longer stays in hospital. Severe pressure sores can even damage the muscle and bone underneath the skin. At worst pressure sores can be life threatening if they become infected. It is estimated that pressure sores currently cost the NHS up to £4 billion a year.
