Visit Rober at Arab Health 2020

Rober is delighted to be showcasing its new innovative paediatric mattress at Arab Health 2020.

Following months of feedback from its global partners, Rober is delighted to announce that they have launched a 3 cell-cycle alternating pressure mattress replacement system designed to support children aged between 0 to 13 years old.

Paediatric pressure ulcer mattress launched at MEDICA 2019

UK based Rober, who specialises in the development and manufacture of ‘zero pressure’ technology, will be launching a new innovative paediatric mattress at MEDICA 2019.

Following months of feedback from its global partners, Rober is delighted to announce that they have launched a 3 cell-cycle alternating pressure mattress replacement system designed to support children aged between 0 to 13 years old.

Catering for a weight range between 0 to 60 kilograms, the AirFlex TRIO Junior mattress has been designed to be used as a pressure relieving support mattress in children’s hospitals and paediatric units worldwide.

Rober has also updated two of its key mattresses – NoDec AIRSTREAM3 and NoDec WIZARD – creating reduced height versions of the mattresses. The enhanced versions offer the same zero pressure as the originals but with a reduced height of 20cm to meet the BS EN 60601-2-52:2010 bed frame requirements of global hospitals.

All Rober mattresses feature clinically proven technology that prevents pressure injuries from developing. They also have therapeutic properties that promote the healing of established ulcers.

Offering zero pressure protection, the mattresses replicate the body’s natural movements by responding to a patient’s weight, spontaneous movement pattern and body position. They provide enhanced comfort and complete pressure elimination at regular intervals.

Mike Hutson, Chief Executive of Rober, said: “MEDICA is one of our key export events of the year so we are delighted to be launching our new mattresses at the exhibition. Like all our mattresses, the new AirFlex TRIO Junior is fully automatic, and anyone nursed upon it requires less frequent manual repositioning, thus relieving the pressure on busy nursing staff. It’s the first time we have used our technology to create a paediatric mattress so it’s an exciting time for us.”

MEDICA is taking place from 18 – 21 November 2019 in Düsseldorf, Germany, and throughout the show Rober will be located in Hall 16 Stand KI7-6.

Working collaboratively with other pressure ulcer mattress companies

Rober’s mission is to avoid pressure ulcers in people who are “at risk”, so we have been honoured to work collaboratively with other pressure ulcer mattress suppliers to help achieve this.

Over the last three years we have working alongside a UK pressure ulcer relief company designing and manufacturing a new pump for them. The technology was modified to the company’s own mattress criteria to meet their customer’s needs. Drawing on manufacturing support from our sister company, Speed Plastics, and our vast knowledge of pressure ulcer relief technology, Rober was delighted to design and manufacture a completely new mattress design for them. So far over 100 mattresses have been manufactured and issued to the customer, with a further 50 to be distributed very soon.

Pressure ulcers can cause immense pain and present a treatment problem for healthcare providers. They can result in prolonged hospital stays and even death. Treating pressure ulcers can be costly, using precious resources. Estimates suggest that 80-95% of pressure ulcers are avoidable, so it’s a case of prevention being better than cure.

Together we can help #stopthepressure.
